My Views
Aus Mahoodle
A view is compositon of artefacts from your ePortfolio. Only people who are shown in one of your views can see your artifacts, therefore you may permit an acess for as many individuals or groups as you want. A view can stay in privat as well.
You can create any desired number of views and assine your artefacts in any order to those views.

Create View
You find an overview of the existing views by clicking the menu item "My Portfolio" --> "My Views". You can create a new view here.
Click the button "Create View". In a first step you choose a title, description and tags of your view.
The text of your view description can be seen in the header of your view in a later stage and should be designed in an appealing way by using the editor. This way the viewer can already see what to expect before choosing the view.
The entry of tags makes it later easier to find specific views. By using the dropdown menu "Name display Format" you can choose how the name author is supposed to be displayed

In the second part you can choose the layout of your view. By using the drag and drop technique you can easily pull your desired content to the bottom margin of your page. Use the button "Display view" and you will see a preview.
You can see the order of your already choosen content in three different colums. If you wish you can adjust every singel block here.
In a third step you deal with the access authorisation of your view. In your default settings only you can see your view. Here you can administrate and permit access authorisation of whom you wish to see your page.
Over the calendar function you can create for every user an individual access period. For an overall regulation, you can enter your desired data on the end of the page.
Edit View
The area where you can work on your view is structured in a part with the different block types and a working space.
Note for admins: It is fairly easy to create an own block type, which can be also displayed in this view.
Column Layout
If you create a new view normally you use three columns.
Change/Display View Layout
In between the blog area and the working space are two links to change the display of your view layout (Change View Layout)Here you can change the partion of your columns. Your can choose either 1,2,3,4, or 5 columns for your layout. You are also able to display your view Display View.
Create a blog
To add a blog to your view you need to pull the displayed icon into the desired area by holding on to the left mouse button. Mahara is showing you a possible position with a dashed area. If you let go of the left mouse button your block is being placed into your desired area and is opening in a working modus.
After entering the information needed pleas click on save block .
Register General
The block type text block is an all purpose tool. By using it you can cover all areas of your view. This way all the information which is not designed to be an artefact can be insert in your view in an appealing way.
A useful example for an integration is a link lists like the following:
An abruption of the entering is leading to an empty block. This block can be adjusted afterward or must be deleted.

Register Resume
The Resume gives you the option to adopt your whole resume with all the artefacts into your view. The presentation is similar to the side my profile. All of the captured profile artefacts can be integrated.
By using the block Resume field you can choose over a checkbox your resume artefact. In this way you can build in the resume artefacts you need. Using this function is a bit detailed but gives you the opportunity of having a differentiated choice and an allocation of your resume artefacts in your layout.

You can find a resume block to insert several resume artefacts plus the possibility to choose the order http://ewiesion.com. You can download this plug-in for free.
The register is giving you the option to choose between Blog, Blog Post, Resent Blog Posts
By inserting the block Blog a whole Blog is added to your view. In the working modus of this Blog you have your already created Blogs to choose from.
The block Blog Post is giving you the option to add a special blog post. Here again you have all your already prepared blog postings from all of your blogs shown in the working modus.
By inserting the block Resent Blog Posts the 10 most resent blog posts are added to your view. Again you can choose in your working modus which blog postings out of your blogs are supposed to be shown up. In addition to that here you can change your blog title of your blog.

The register tabs Browse and search is helping to generate a preselection out of the numbered entrees.
Register Files, Images and Video

This area is providing tools for inserting artefacts from the data filing system and external videos into your view.
The block external video is adding a video from platforms like Youtube or GoogleVideo to your view. To do so you have to assign the URL of the video. In addition to that you can choose a title for the block and change the sice of the video by converting the pixel. This way your video may fit better into the layout of your view.
The block Files for downloads is giving your reader the option to download your already uploaded files. Here you can also choose the title of your block by yourself.
The block a folder makes it easy to provide all files saved in one directory for the download by simply supplying a download link.
The block picture can add an uploaded picture to your view. You can choose the title of the block. Also you have the possibility to show the description of your picture and to change the pixel sice to scale your picture. Please be aware that during the scaling process your layout might be disarranged.
The block incorporated media is functioning like the block picture. The only difference is that you add already uploaded media to your view. Again you choose title and sice by yourself.
Register External Feeds
Here you can find the block External Feeds. By using this block you can add valid RSS and ATOM feeds to your view. To do so you simply have to insert the URL of the feed in the working modus of this block.

Register Profil
With the help of those blocks you can built in the contact and profile information of your view.
The block contact information is giving you the option if ether an e-mail address, city or state is shown in your view. The title is again in your hands.
The block profile information can show details like name, introduction, city, state, occupation and industry. Also you have the option to show the e-mail of the user e-mail address and the user picture as well as the introduction. A check bock is choosing the options. Remark: There is no possibility to influence the order of the information. Mahare is currently not able to provide this function.
Feedback, Watch list and Co
On the bottom margin of the view the reader has some options to interact. By clicking the baton give Feedback the reader can give a feedback to a view or an artefact within the view. The public feedback can be seen from users with access authorisation as well. The private feedback is only for you. You can put a public feedback in a private status but it is not possible to convert a private status into a public feedback.
The link display offensive material is giving the option to report offensive or insulting marital to the site administrator.
Print is providing a nice print version of your view or an artefact and gives you the option to print directly.
add view to watch list is giving the user the option to generate a watch list for notifications when changes accrue.
