Tutorial Mahara 1.0 - Groups - Find Friends

For reaching the tab Find friends you have to click the button Groups first and then the button Find friends .
There are two possibilities to find new contacts. Either you use the Find friends panel, where you type in the name you are searching for, or you scroll down the list of all Mahara users.
In case you use the Find friends panel, it is important to check the spelling. You might have to try different spellings, such as all in big letters for example.
In order to add a new contact, you have to send out a request using the button Send friend request! . A pop up window appears, where you can type in the reason for your request. Request friendship then sends out your message to the contact you want to add.
You are automatically forwarded to the Find friends window. The accordant contact is marked as Friendship requested now. Additionally on the top of the screen the message Sent a friendship request to ... appears. You can also send Messages to the Mahara users, like described in My friends .
